James W. Walker enjoys substantial experience in the trial and appeal of complex commercial disputes for Fortune 500 companies, municipalities and individuals requiring dedicated legal counsel. The firm he helped found has recently completed its first decade of service to its many clients. The past ten years of professional success has resulted in his firm being been nominated by a Fortune 500 company and selected as a "Go To Law Firm" by Fortune Magazine for the past seven consecutive years. Mr. Walker has continuously enjoyed a “Preeminent” A/V Martindale rating since 1995.
Mr. Walker has been previously recognized for his ability to connect with juries and to communicate complex facts and concepts in a manner that gets results for his clients. Mr. Walker's trial and appellate experience extends to include litigation of complex disputes across the country in areas of law governing commercial contract and business torts, energy and electric utilities, municipalities, executive and professional liability, private associations, and commercial and foreign liability insurance claims.
Mr. Walker has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars on issues pertaining to the litigation of contract, business tort, energy, professional liability, commercial insurance and reinsurance claims. Not only has Mr. Walker served as a Faculty Member at formal seminars sponsored by the University of Texas Law School, the University of Houston Law School and the State Bar of Texas, but he also conducts private seminars for a variety of corporate clients. Mr. Walker received his Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1985.
Mr. Walker is also active in his community. He currently serves for his second term as a member of the Coppell Economic Development Committee and is President of the Coppell Economic Development Foundation. Mr. Walker is Immediate Past President of the Austin College "L" Association. Mr. Walker is a Sustaining Life Fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation and is also a member of the Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations.
In recent years, Mr. Walker has served as President of the Coppell ISD Education Foundation and as a member of the 2009 City of Coppell Bond Advisory Committee. For more than two decades, Mr. Walker served in a variety of capacities on the Board of Directors and Advisory Board of the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science. Mr. Walker was selected by the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce in 1992 to participate in the Leadership Dallas program and was honored in 1998 as one of "Forty Under Forty" by the Dallas Business Journal. He was a Charter Member and Barrister of the Justice Patrick Higginbotham Dallas Inn of Court and an Honorary Barrister in the Honorable Society of Lincoln's Inn in London, England.
